Why Proper Labelling & Claims Are Critical

The challenge lies in navigating regional differences, as requirements vary between the EU, UK, North America, and other global markets. Regional Requirements at a Glance
EU / UK – Labels must include ingredient lists, PAO/durability, a responsible person, and allergen declarations. Claims must meet the six common criteria: legal, truthful, substantiated, honest, fair, and informative.
Canada – From June 2025, clearer allergen labelling is required. By April 2026, 26 fragrance allergens must be declared, aligning more closely with EU rules.
USA – The FDA requires ingredient lists in descending order and bans misleading or drug-like claims.
California (Prop 65) – From 2025, short-form warnings must list at least one chemical, with transition to 2028.
