We offer a host of options to support your products safety and validate your claims. What’s more, we’re investing heavily in our testing capacity to ensure it remains up-to-date and capable of meeting the needs of future consumers.
We use a combination of 48/96-hour patch tests, along with the Human Repeat Insult Patch Test (HRIPT), to meet the clients’ needs. These evaluation techniques are designed to assess the potential for irritation or allergic reactions caused by beauty or domestic products. The specific duration chosen—whether it’s a 48-hour/96-hour test or a 6-week trial—depends on factors such as customer requirements and the nature of the product being tested.
48-hour patch test
The 48-hour patch test follows a similar procedure but with only two 23-hour patch applications. It is more commonly used for wash-off products such as soaps and shampoos.
96-hour patch test
A 96-hour patch test involves a minimum of 30 subjects to investigate the skin irritation potential of the test product, alongside two standard controls (one negative and one positive). The study includes four 23-hour patch applications, with reactions scored 1 hour after the removal of the first, second, third, and fourth patches.
Human Repeat Insult Patch Test (HRIPT)
The HRIPT is a globally accepted patch test that involves applying patches, grading skin irritation after their removal, and then reapplying the patches. This process continues for 3 weeks, followed by a rest phase before challenge patches are applied and graded.

These testing methods aim to assess the potential irritancy or allergic reactions caused by cosmetic or household products. These tests can then be used to support the following claims such as:
- Dermatologically tested
- Clinically tested
- Safe for skin
- Kind to skin
- Mild for skin
Additional HRIPT Claims Available by request:
- Hypoallergenic

- Dermatologist Approved
- Paediatrician Approved
- Safe/Suitable for Sensitive Skin
- Safe/Suitable for Eczema Prone Skin
